If you are sure you have the right settings and your password is correct, there is a 90% chance that you have a firewall interfering with FileZilla. A good fix is located under FileZilla’s “Edit” tab. It’s called the Network Configuration Wizard. You will need to enter your external IP in the process, as well as possibly port forward some ports. Note: The right settings usually include your username to be email@example.com, even if you already have website.com as your host.
